 Mastercard match list is the tool for the banks and credit card companies that provide information about the merchants who have done some wrong or illegal. Illegal activities such as money laundering, identity theft are the activities that lead the merchants into the list. 

A Mastercard match list is a database list that has all the information about the terminated merchants according to the information of the accruing bank. The mechanism of the match list is based on the database system the information is added into the list when the accruing bank reports and if the report is matched with the reason code then it will be added into the list. if the merchant is added to the list that means the name of the merchant in the list for five years. The only accruing bank has the power to remove from the list. 

There are two things with the Mastercard match list that the Mastercard does not confirm the report about the merchant and another thing is with a match list that Mastercard does not send any kind of notification or anything to inform the merchants that he or she in the list. the merchants will only no when they apply for the new card and when they have difficulty in payment processing. 

Listed in the Mastercard Match list is big trouble especially for the merchants who are first time listed in the match list. It is frustrating to be listed in the Match list because it is challenging for the merchants to get off the list. Don’t worry if you are first time on the list or you have not done anything wrong that can bring you to the list then it may be false information that leads you to the match list because Mastercard does not verify the information. Another most common reason is the heavy chargebacks that bring you on the list then don’t worry by clearing your chargebacks you will get off from the list when the Master card Match list will update.

Mastercard Match list is trouble for the Merchants but if you want that your business will away from the match list then don’t do any activities that bring you to the list. It is good for the reputation of your business.
